Day 1
Depart for Michigan
We begin our scenic journey from Pennsylvania as we head toward the Great Lakes state for a week of unforgettable sights, stories, and springtime color.
Day 2
Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village
After breakfast, we explore the world-renowned Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village the largest indoor/outdoor history museum in the country. Discover America’s spirit of innovation through exhibits featuring its people, inventions, and culture with hands-on experiences that inspire. Dinner tonight is at the automotive-themed Ford’s Garage in Dearborn, MI.
Day 3
Frankenmuth & Mackinac Island
This morning, we travel to the charming Bavarian village of Frankenmuth, where you’ll have free time to shop, explore, and enjoy lunch on your own. Stroll Main Street for unique gift shops, breweries, candy kitchens, sausage markets, and the world-famous Bronner’s Christmas Store.
Later, we arrive at Mackinaw City and board the ferry to magical Mackinac Island, where a horse-drawn island taxi will take us to the historic Island House Hotel, our home for two nights.
Dinner is included at the Island House this evening.
Day 4
Mackinac Carriage Tour & Fort Mackinac
Step back in time with a narrated horse-drawn carriage tour of the island. With no cars allowed, Mackinac Island offers a peaceful atmosphere powered by hooves, not engines. Our tour ends at Fort Mackinac, where you’ll enjoy a self-guided visit of this American Revolution-era outpost perched high on the bluff.
Spend the afternoon exploring the island at your own pace, whether visiting the Grand Hotel, sampling local fudge, shopping, or simply taking in the lake views.
We’ll reunite for another delightful included dinner at the Island House.
Day 5
Tulip Gardens & Motown Magic
This morning, we ferry back to Mackinaw City and travel south to Holland, MI, arriving at the breathtaking Veldheer Tulip Gardens, home to over 5 million blooming tulips in stunning varieties and colors.
In the evening, enjoy dinner followed by the high-energy Forever Motown concert featuring legendary hits and nostalgic vibes. After the show, we check in to the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Holland.
Day 6
Windmill Island & Saugatuck Dune Ride
After breakfast, we head to Windmill Island Gardens, where you’ll tour an authentic Dutch village replica, complete with canals, gardens, and De Zwaan, a 249-year-old working Dutch windmill.
Next, we travel to Saugatuck for a thrilling dune buggy ride across the sand dunes overlooking Lake Michigan. Learn about the area’s natural history while enjoying panoramic views and photo ops.
Day 7
Journey Home
Following breakfast, we begin our journey home, taking with us warm memories of Michigan’s beauty, charm, and history.
