Day 1
York & Portland Arrival
Begin your journey in beautiful York, Maine, with a photo stop at Nubble Light Maine’s southernmost lighthouseperched dramatically on Cape Neddick near York Beach. From this vantage point, you’ll also spot the infamous Boon Island Lighthouse just offshore. This afternoon, continue to Portland for your overnight stay at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn, featuring an indoor pool, jacuzzi with therapeutic waterfall, and full-service restaurant and lounge. Enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and cappuccino in the lobby. A friendly Maine Tour Lobsterette will greet you at the hotel with your souvenir lobster hats.
Day 2
Boothbay Harbor & Puffin Nature Cruise
This morning, travel to the scenic seaside town of Boothbay Harbor. Upon arrival, board a boat for a Puffin Nature Cruise, a seasonal wildlife Seafari offering views of seals, blue herons, and other coastal wildlife including puffins nesting on Eastern Egg Rock, visible only during the summer months. After your cruise, enjoy free time along Boothbay’s picturesque waterfront for lunch on your own and shopping in this charming resort village, which still retains the character of an old New England fishing town.
Day 3
Owls Head, Rockland & Lobster Festival
Begin your day with a visit to the fascinating Owls Head Transportation Museum, home to over 150 fully operational antique vehicles, including World War I fighter planes, Stanley Steamers, motorcycles, and rare automobiles. Enjoy an overview tour followed by free time to explore at your own pace. Then it’s off to Rockland the lobster capital of Maine for the 79th Annual Maine Lobster Festival on the scenic harborfront. Savor the sights, sounds, and tastes of Maine with live music, local crafts, cooking contests, and of course, fresh lobster and seafood favorites like steamed mussels, fried clams, shrimp cocktail, and blueberry pie. Lunch is on your own at the festival. Later, visit the Maine Lighthouse Museum, home to one of the largest collections of lighthouse and Coast Guard artifacts in the U.S., and enjoy views of Rockland Harbor Lighthouse.
Day 4
Freeport & Portland
This morning, head to Freeport Village, home of the world-famous L.L. Bean flagship store, as well as a variety of outlet shops and casual cafés. Enjoy time for shopping and lunch on your own before continuing to Portland, Maine’s largest city by the sea. Meet your local guide for a narrated city tour featuring views of Longfellow’s boyhood home, historic sea captain houses, and the elegant Victoria Mansion. Visit Portland Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse in America, set in scenic Fort Williams Park. This evening, enjoy free time in Portland’s Old Port District, with its cobblestone streets, 19th-century architecture, and vibrant mix of restaurants, microbreweries, boutiques, and galleries.
Day 5
Kennebunkport & Kennebunk / Departure
Your final day takes you to the coastal villages of Kennebunkport and Kennebunk. Upon arrival, meet your local guide for a narrated tour highlighting the area’s rich maritime history. Pass sandy beaches, the famously ornate Wedding Cake House, and travel along Ocean Avenue for views of historic homes and Walker’s Point, the summer home of President George H.W. Bush and family. Afterward, enjoy free time for lunch and shopping in Dock Square, a quaint village filled with charming shops and eateries. Then, begin your return journey home to Pennsylvania with memories of a classic Maine coastal adventure.
