Day 1

Thousand Islands Winery & Alexandria Bay

Welcome to the breathtaking Thousand Islands, where the U.S. and Canada meet in a stunning blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Once called the Garden of the Great Spirit by Indigenous peoples, this region remains one of the most scenic destinations in North America. This afternoon, enjoy a wine tasting at the charming Thousand Islands Winery, housed in a historic 1923 Sears & Roebuck barn. Sip award-winning wines while learning about the winery’s fascinating history from the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Later, check in at the beautiful Riveredge Resort, located directly on the St. Lawrence River. Relax and unwind before joining your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner in the resort’s elegant dining room.

Day 2

1000 Islands Cruise, Boldt Castle & Arrival in Ottawa

After breakfast, meet your local step-on guide for a scenic exploration of the Thousand Islands. Enjoy views of historic lighthouses, grand summer homes, and island-dotted waterways rich with stories of the past. At noon, board Uncle Sam Boat Tours for a spectacular Two-Nation Luncheon Cruise, a 22-mile journey through the international waters of the U.S. and Canada no passport required! Enjoy a delicious lunch while cruising past breathtaking landscapes and island landmarks. Next, step ashore at Heart Island for a self-guided tour of the romantic Boldt Castle, a six-story tribute to love built by hotel magnate George Boldt for his beloved wife Louise. After returning to the mainland, we’ll journey north to Ottawa, Canada’s picturesque capital, just in time for the vibrant Canadian Tulip Festival, the largest tulip celebration in the world. Check into the centrally located Courtyard by Marriott Ottawa Downtown for a three-night stay, followed by a delicious welcome dinner at a local favorite.

Parliament Hill, Rideau Hall & the Tulip Festival

Enjoy breakfast before meeting your guide for a full day of exploration in Ottawa. Begin with a panoramic tour of Parliament Hill, the symbolic heart of Canadian democracy. Then, experience the Immersive Centre Block Exhibition, featuring multimedia displays and a 360° experience inside the iconic building. Next, visit Rideau Hall, the elegant official residence of the Governor General of Canada, with its manicured grounds and fascinating history. This afternoon, dive into the colorful celebrations of the Canadian Tulip Festival. Stroll along the Tulip Boardwalk near Dow’s Lake, admire themed floral displays, and take part in the Tulip Legacy Walking Tour, visiting key landmarks such as the Queen Juliana Gift Bed and the Man with Two Hats statue. At the Tulip Pavilion, enjoy cultural exhibits, floral art installations, garden workshops, and even an exciting virtual reality experience presented by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. RCMP Stables, Laurier House & Rideau Canal Cruise

After breakfast, set out for another enriching day in Ottawa. Begin with a visit to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Stables, home of the world-famous Musical Ride (please note we will not see their musical performance). Meet the horses, interact with the riders, and visit the Mountie Shop and visitor center. Next, explore Laurier House National Historic Site, a beautifully preserved mansion that served as the residence and unofficial office of Prime Ministers Sir Wilfrid Laurier and William Lyon Mackenzie King. A guided tour reveals the fascinating political and personal lives of two of Canada’s most influential leaders. In the afternoon, unwind with a leisurely Rideau Canal cruise, offering spectacular views of the city’s landmarks from the water. This evening, gather with fellow travelers for a memorable farewell dinner.

Return Home

Enjoy a final breakfast before bidding farewell to beautiful Ottawa and beginning the journey home, filled with unforgettable memories of castles, tulips, history, and hospitality.
